    Eaton’s ES AMER PCS PCD division is currently seeking an Electrical Test Engineer. This role will be located in Beaver PA.

    Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The expected annual salary for this role is $80,000 (bachelor's degree) with a one-time $6,000 sign on bonus.

    What you’ll do:

    Primary Function

    The primary purpose of this position is to conduct electrical testing in one of the electrical test laboratories located in Beaver, PA. The power test lab supports Eaton’s Power Components Division (PCD) engineering department and directly contributes to the product development, sustaining, innovation, and certification goals. This role will test, support and verify complex test setups, oversee lab safety to proactively prevent incidents and ensure tech / customer safety when performing setups or testing. The lab engineer will help maintain the lab test equipment, write, prepare, and process test reports, track test request status, and participate in planning of lab equipment upgrades or repairs. Additional requirements will be to implement and maintain 5S activities as well as supporting all safety initiatives.

    Essential Functions

    • Conduct various electrical tests in accordance with UL, CSA, IEC and NEMA standards for electrical distribution products, as required, to meet the product development and sustaining testing demands. Learn applicable IEC, UL, and NEMA testing standards.
    • Ensure safe conditions have been met for Electrical Safety and EHS Activities to appropriate legislative and Eaton safety policies.
    • Assist in lab scheduling as well as aligning tasks for lab technicians, equipment calibrations and coordinate with customers and clients to complete all position required activities.
    • Conduct daily activities and additional special assignments or tasks requested by manager to ensure lab functionality.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time to increase the efficiency in the lab and deliver results for critical projects.
    • Ensure all test equipment is calibrated and up to date.
    • Coordinate and organize incoming and outgoing samples while maintaining yearly test sample lists.

    Responsibilities related to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS)

    • Support site MESH activities to ensure safe conditions have been met in accordance with appropriate legislative and Eaton safety policies. Complete all EHS Environment, Health, and Safety training assigned.
    • Must maintain Power Industrial Truck Certification.
    • Must maintain Electrical Worker Certification.
    • Must follow all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocol.
    • Execute 100% of monthly safety inspection, in coordination with the M.E.S.H. Management of Environment, Safety, Security, and Health Policies.
    • Complete all EHS Environment, Health, and Safety training assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electromechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering technology from an accredited institution, with graduation date no later than August 2024.
    • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.
    • Minimum of one internship/co-op experience or an equivalent of 3 months of electrical , mechanical, or industrial experience completed at the time of this application.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship now and in the future.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
    • Prior internship or co-op experience in electrical testing or electrical power/control systems design
    • Experience using a computer for detailed test documentation and analysis
    • Experience with power systems component operation such as circuit breakers, motors, transformers, panelboards, PLCs, HMIs, solid state components
    • Experience with measurement equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and megger equipment
    • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community

    Position Criteria

    • Capable of working with engineering, project team members, production facilities and outside suppliers.
    • Working knowledge of test equipment and application in various testing environments.
    • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members to problem solve
    • Capable of clearly communicating ideas and concepts within a team environment.
    • Able to assemble, verify, and correlate results as well as prepare reports and present findings
