The Electrician is expected to have a strong understanding of, and hands-on experience with, a wide range of electrical systems, theories, best practices, safety protocols, and controls. This includes knowledge and experience working with general electrical infrastructure such as motor starters, lighting circuits, power distribution equipment, and industrial control systems. Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), specifically Rockwell Control Logix, is essential in this role.
Experience with variable speed AC and DC drives and motors is required, along with knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems, including transmitters, control valves, control loops, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). The role also involves monitoring and controlling process variables such as temperature, pressure, flow, and pH.
Strong analytical troubleshooting skills are necessary, including the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and utilize troubleshooting manuals effectively. The Electrician should be capable of diagnosing complex issues and implementing solutions to maintain optimal equipment performance.
Membership in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Union Local 236 is required for this position. Shift assignment will be determined based on seniority at the time of hire and will either be second shift (Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) or third shift (Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
The starting pay for this position is $39.59 per hour, provided the candidate holds a valid Electrician Journeyworker card and/or a state electrician license, along with the required years of relevant experience.
Candidates who do not meet these qualifications and are hired will be required to enroll in the local apprenticeship program, which includes both on-the-job training and academic coursework through a local accredited institution.
The company may credit prior professional experience and academic credentials toward the completion of the apprenticeship requirements.

Education and Skills Requirements
The successful candidate will work in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to temperature changes, dust, odors, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical hazards. Required PPE includes safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and bump caps.
This physically demanding role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, working up to 12-hour shifts, performing repetitive tasks, and operating in confined spaces.
Pre-employment requirements include a physical capabilities test, respirator fit check, and drug screening.

This role is part of a collective bargaining agreement (IBEW Local 236). In the event of any discrepancy between this posting and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), the CBA shall govern.
