    Product CAD Designer, Sliding Stem Valves New Product Development Description The Product Designer is an integral member of New Product Development team who supports New Product Development activities of the Sliding Stem Business Unit from concept to final product release, including design, detail drafting, and part number creation. Assists design engineers in performing calculations and conduct stack-up, casting, and machine stock tolerance studies. Organizes concept reviews, participate in design reviews, and assist with procurement and evaluation of prototypes. Supports the day to day activities of the business unit for product maintenance and engineering management. Responsibilities * Willingness to work in teams and individually both inside and outside of the business unit * Contribute to activities and projects to help achieve business unit goals and objectives * Layout and design sliding stem valve, trim, and actuation components * Create basic renderings * Design parts for specific manufacturing processes * Layout and design test fixtures * Create/check 3D models and drawings of varying complexities * Originate and assist with the completion of ECRNs * Setup and maintain part numbers, EM modules, and other engineering items * Assist with preparation for gate meetings, design reviews, and related activities * Represent Emerson in communications with vendors * Perform other duties as assigned Requirements * Minimum of Associates Degree, CAD-related. Mechanical emphasis, preferred. * Minimum of three years CAD-related experience. Knowledge of and experience with Fisher products, preferred. * Ability to Work with complex 3D assembly models * Import/Export ability and experience with CAD neutral files * Demonstrate ASME Y14.5 capabilities * Ability to create a design layout from a limited detail sketch * Communication and organization skills * Familiarity with Fisher drafting standards and practices, preferred * Familiarity with edocs, INNOVATUS, OASIS tools, preferred * Understanding of create, store, load, and release within Model/Drawing manager, preferred * Ability to prepare 3D models for simulation analysis, preferred * Understanding of advanced surface modeling and complex blending skills, preferred * Ability to use 3D models to define areas, mass, volumes, center-of-gravity and other properties, preferred * Ability to calculate flow areas, preferred * Familiarity with wall thickness and flange standards, preferred * Ability to apply and calculate GD&T, preferred * Understanding of Rule #1 * Calculate fixed & floating fastener tolerance * Understanding of maximum and minimum material conditions * Ability to use Microsoft Excel formulas for calculations, preferred * General understanding of materials properties (primarily metals), preferred * General understanding of castings, forgings, and stampings, preferred Work Authorization No calls or agencies please.
