    Job Summary

    What’s the Job? The Engineering Intern/Co-Op will have the opportunity to make an impact in an Engineering department at a Ceramic manufacturing site. This role will assist in a variety of projects including the development and implementation of sustainability projects. You will have exposure to the core engineering processes of the business, including the preparation and firing of Hexoloy.

    Professional development opportunities include:

    • On-the-job applied learning in a manufacturing setting partnering with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Process Innovation, and Production teams
    • Understand the cross functional relationships between Engineering and other areas of a business
    • Understand time management requirements when working individually or in a team

    • Accountable for maintaining a safe work environment adhering to all safety procedures and best manufacturing practices and supporting a culture of safety by being a personal example and by encouraging, empowering, and involving all staff in safety.
    • As an R&D intern engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing machinery at the lab scale. If successful you will lead the implementation of what is learned to the manufacturing floor.

    Required Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science - Materials, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering program or similar discipline
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and demanding timelines
    • Analytical problem-solving skills and critical thinking
    • Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Desire to learn and contribute on the manufacturing floor
