Job Description
As a key member of the site leadership team, the Engineering and Maintenance Manager provides strategic and operational leadership to the process engineering, controls, and maintenance departments. Your primary mission is to build organizational capability by leading, developing, and challenging your teams to exceed performance targets. You will drive process reliability , advance site technology, and champion continuous improvement initiatives that align with Avery Dennison’s Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS) standards.
Key activities include:
Leadership & Development: Attract, retain, and develop high-potential talent by providing regular feedback through the Global Performance Management System and creating clear development opportunities.
Operational Excellence: Design and implement strategies for safety, quality, and cost reduction. You will oversee the work order system, spare parts inventory, and preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment is in top working order with minimal downtime.
Financial Stewardship: Manage the department budget and the site’s capital project portfolio, ensuring all investments are executed on time and deliver expected financial results.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, Quality, and Commercial teams to translate customer needs into technical requirements, supporting new product qualifications and R&D trials.
Safety Leadership: Model and promote a safety-first culture, ensuring all operations comply with legal and corporate EHS requirements.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred; other related engineering degrees will be considered.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in process engineering, plant maintenance, or engineering leadership within a complex manufacturing environment.
Technical Knowledge: Strong proficiency in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems , including automation controls, AC/DC drives, and PLCs.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to influence, motivate, and develop diverse teams while managing multiple high-priority projects concurrently.
Analytical Ability: Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills to identify trends and develop actionable plans.
Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical data to various levels of the organization.
Tools: Proficiency with Google Collaboration Tools, Microsoft Office, and technical software such as AutoCAD or Rockwell RS.
Preferred: Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) and experience with Total Predictive Maintenance (TPM) programs.

The salary range for this position is $119,625 - $159,500 / year.
