    Job Summary

    Engineering Co-op will be responsible for completing the work required to transfer and validate the Quality Manufacturing Systems software. The scope of work includes the implementation of new software systems that support document control, maintenance, facilities, calibrations, and production deviation management. This position will report to an engineering supervisor and work with the project team which is constructed to assist the Engineering Co-op to be successful in the completion of set-up, testing and validation of the system.

    Successful completion of assigned work will require good technical aptitude and organizational skills to set-up new systems by assembling data to transfer from legacy systems to newly established software. The Engineering Co-op will then create methods of working with Validation Engineering and the Project Team to complete the successfully validate the functional and user requirement specifications.

    Engineering Co-op job summary:

    • Engineering Co-op will work closely with the Engineering Supervisor and Project Team to define, create, analyze, transfer, and validate functional and user requirements.
    • Within scope of assigned projects, the Engineering Co-op will update and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Work Instructions (WI’s), training materials.
    • Complete validation requirements to release systems.
    • Participate in 5S and Safety activities.

    In this position the candidate will use engineering principles to provide technical support. Promotes a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings.

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED; required.
    • Completed College credits to achieve Junior Status in the following programs, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Computer Science, Materials, Business Administration, or Bio Medical Engineering; required
    • Completed College credits to achieve Senior Status in the following programs, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Computer Science, Materials, Business Administration, or Bio Medical Engineering; preferred.
    • One-semester experience of Engineering Intern or Co-op; preferred.
    • Excellent analytical skills, hands-on approach, proactive safety approach and sense of urgency in problem solving; required.
    • Proven project management completion skills including excellent presentation skills, technical writing skills, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate a project in an effective manner; required.
    • Motivation to learn new process and procedures, self-starting attitude; required.
