Position Summary:
Liberty Works leads research and development of technologies for US Defense Business Development. With a focus on early-stage Technology Readiness Level (TRL) projects and innovative solutions, Liberty Works delivers technology demonstration programs to enable and enhance the capabilities of our customers’ next-generation power systems.
This role will support one or more Liberty Works Research & Development program(s).
What you’ll be doing:
Systems engineering (e.g., system modelling, requirements capture, validation and verification planning)
Mechanical, aerodynamics, dynamics, thermal and/or electrical design/analysis
Test design, planning and support
Data reduction and/or analysis
Written, verbal and/or visual presentation and documentation of completed work
Contributing as part of a team of engineering professionals to deliver solutions
Who we’re looking for:
Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated track record of strong problem solving and thinking agility. Flexibility and the ability to deal with the ambiguity that comes with research and development projects are key to being successful in the role.
With appropriate support from senior personnel, you must be able to:
Effectively solve problems through strong interpersonal skills and teamwork
Communicate clearly in both written and oral forms with a variety of audiences (e.g., shop floor, technical experts and management)
Confidently present work to others and prepare clear, engaging visual aids
Work independently to plan, prioritize and execute tasks to meet program deadlines

Relevant majors:
Currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
Standing/Graduation Eligibility: Attending an accredited college/university working towards a bachelor’s degree or higher
Minimum GPA: 3.0
Preferred qualifications (not required):
Understanding and experience with CAD
Understanding and experience with data analysis
Prior technical internship or co-op
