THE PROGRAM:
Engineering for Services (EfS) is one of this most exciting Engineering functions because we get to interface with all our customers and actually support our products in service. This can be through direct fleet support or when our products are in the shop or depot. EfS engineers also get the opportunity to support all our future and current development programs as we support a safe and reliable design of our products before they reach service. When in service, EfS Engineers work to resolve customer issues with engine operation and supporting equipment, investigate safety and reliability concerns, and update and manage RR technical publications to keep our engine safe and mission ready.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As an intern with the EfS core capability, your responsibilities may include:
Provide daily support on Customer/Production queries and investigations (may require and/or include trips to manufacturing facilities to see hardware and/or testing) by customer commit date (normally all are 1-3 weeks).
Complete safety and reliability assessments on engines and components.
Manage a component repair project and/or provide technical oversite of MRO supply chain.
Coordinate and develop airworthiness instructions with various engineering functions and ensure technical quality standards and delivery schedules are met.
Deliver Technical Solutions for Ground Support Equipment to the customer.
Provide engineering support to the customer when they make a request in the form of a Technical Query or Technical Variance Request.
Define and validate component repair schemes, working closely with product component designers as well as materials engineering in coordination with internal and external suppliers and supply chain organizations.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
How to identify a problem a scope a task
Well written and oral communication to a variety of audiences
Good presentation skills as you will be communicating directly with clients
Able to work with ambiguity in a role
Interest in non-technical work-related items and interfacing directly with several groups with Rolls-Royce and stakeholders alike.
RELEVANT MAJORS: Variety of Engineering majors (Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials, etc.)
STANDING/GRADUATION ELIGIBILITY: Candidate will be pursuing a bachelors or master’s degree in a relevant major applicable to the role.
MINIMUM GPA: 3.0
