Systems Engineering Intern Department: KAB Location: San Diego, CA KAB Laboratories, Inc. (http://kablab.com ), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Epsilon Systems Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern for work in San Diego, CA. This internship is a unique opportunity to work directly with an active Department of Defense (DoD) project. We expect the internships to open in the July/August timeframe and will run at least through December of 2018. As such, candidates must be local and available to work 20 hours per week during the school year. In addition, candidates must be able to obtain a DoD clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Were accepting applicants now because of the lengthy time required for the clearance process. Summary:Our software test engineers work in close collaboration with program managers, systems engineering teams and development teams to develop and design a system that meets a specific set of requirements and help to integrate capabilities into a mature solution. Duties and Responsibilities: * Develops requirements and traces those requirements throughout multiple phases of a project to deliver a real-time system focused on protecting Naval assets and personnel * Develops technical documentation, system architecture and system design documentation. * Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. * Contributes to the design and execution of unit, system and operational test and evaluation. * Deliver projects on time and with attention to quality Required Qualifications: * Working towards Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. * Experience in systems engineering, systems design, development, integration, test, delivery and support. Skills: * Strong interpersonal skills, telephone etiquette, and professional demeanor. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Effective team player with highly proficient customer service skills. * Advanced level user in Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio). Abilities: * Flexible and able to work in a dynamic, team oriented environment. ADA Notations: * Regular communication (hearing/speaking). * Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy. * Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding). * Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, and may occasionally lift and move at least 25 pounds. * Ability to travel by car, air or other means of transportation, if required.
