    INSIDE SALES INTERN

    Location: Kansas City, KS/MO (Lenexa, KS)

    WHAT DOES THE EXPERITEC INSIDE SALES INTERN ROLE LOOK LIKE?

    The Inside Sales Engineer Intern is responsible for providing assistance to members of the Parts and Inside Sales team. We are looking for a high potential candidate with limited experience who is interested in working in sales. This position is an opportunity for a college student to gain experience in a professional business setting and learn how a business operates on a day-to-day basis. Our customers are largely manufacturing facilities and Upstream Oil & Gas. We serve many different industries including chemical, power generation, refining, oil & gas, food & beverage, pulp & paper, and water.

    WHAT IS THE INSIDE SALES INTERN RESPONSIBLE FOR?

    The Inside Sales Intern will be responsible for providing assistance in Inside Sales related matters. You will be engaged in the daily selection, sizing, and quotation of process control products and instrumentation. Through this hands-on experience, the intern will be given opportunities to build upon their knowledge of products, applications, industries, and the sales process required to support key industries and to further develop their skills and knowledge gained in the classroom.

    TYPICAL WORK ASSIGNMENTS INCLUDE:

    • Become proficient in the use of computer tools used for sizing, selecting, and pricing products.
    • Become proficient in identifying the key attributes of products so they can convert old identification numbers to new Product numbers.
    • Gain understanding of warehouse operations, product assembly, calibration, and testing.
    • Assist in comparing customer purchase order to quotation for correctness and processing.
    • Leverage and optimize utilization of technology-based tools and solutions to achieve results that are consistent with Experitec’s core values and business objectives
    • Manage and/or coordinate administrative duties as necessary
    • Follow through with tasks to completion in a timely manner

    WHO CAN DO THIS JOB?

    THE FOLLOWING ARE PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS:

    • Students currently pursuing a degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or in business with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to work efficiently and effectively within a business system.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Analytical and critical thinking.
    • Ability to work with a team.
    • Good mechanical and flow comprehension
    • PLC interest – has taken or plans to take a PLC course

     

    This position requires a desire to learn. We are looking for an individual who is looking to expand upon their abilities through real-world business experience and who is looking to put their current skills to use in a professional setting.
