Expert On Alert On-Site Technical Specialist – Fort Worth, TX
Who will you be working with?
As part of a high performing team within the Remote Monitoring and Diagnostics group, this role works on-site with BNSF (the customer) to troubleshoot Wabtec locomotives utilizing the Expert on Alert™ platform.
In addition to working closely with fellow Wabtec team members, this role regularly fields requests from BNSF Managers of Equipment Operations (MEOs), Road Foremen of Engines (RFE) and Managers of Locomotive Utilization (MLU) where influence and quick action is key to success.
Please note: the daily reporting location for this position is BNSF Corporate Headquarters located at 2500 Lou Menk Dr., Fort Worth, TX.
How will you make a difference?
The EOA on-site Technical Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operational/technical tasks supporting the BNSF account. This includes monitoring and documenting the execution of Global Performance Optimization Center repair recommendations and creating/maintaining all daily/weekly/monthly scorecards and process/procedural documents, among other tasks.
This will include maintaining good working internal and external relationships with Wabtec and BNSF field and management teams. All of this with the singular goal of assisting our customer in keeping their GE/Wabtec locomotive fleet running at optimal levels.

What do we want to know about you?
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a technical discipline
Willingness to work various shifts on various days including weekends and holidays / on-call. This includes night shift coverage.
Expertise with Wabtec AC/DC EVO, Tier4, Dash 8, Dash 9 locomotive platforms – including the understanding of how the various subsystems work and how to troubleshoot them.
Wabtec Level 1 or above TA/TD certification preferred or expected within 18 months of hire.
Experience with RM&D repair recommendations (RX’s)
Knowledge of field operations and limitations using railroads GOI
Knowledge of all locomotive subsystems, engine, traction, cooling, electric, etc.
Confident speaker, who maintains a professional demeanor when clearly and concisely articulating troubleshooting or locomotive next steps
Strong MS Office skills including advanced MS Excel knowledge and skills
Knowledge in materials management, operations, inventory control and logistics
Limited travel to support specific business or customer needs
Ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities
Strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities
Experience in a field site, shop or manufacturing environment is preferred
Proactive, driving personality - dedicated to serving the customer
Independent worker focused on timely execution
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certified
Knowledge of Wabtec Services business and operations
Excellent interpersonal, communication, presenting and organizational skills
Sound business acumen and proven leadership skills
Capable of making decisions facing limited or conflicting data
Demonstrated cross-functional influencing skills
General Rail industry knowledge and experience
The ability to maintain reliable and predictable attendance
Ability to complete Wabtec Level 1 Technical Training within the prescribed timeframe - if not already certified
A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal

The salary rate for this role is currently $67400-96000 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
