We are seeking a motivated, results-oriented college student to join our team for summer 2022. The Carrier internship experience offers interns an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths in efforts to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy.

As an external communications intern, you will join the high-performing Carrier Global communications team supporting public relations campaigns, integrated communications (for both external and internal use), and creating original content for the Carrier Global website and Carrier's social media channels.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to the strategic growth of the organization by helping to develop and coordinate external communications plans highlighting Carrier's commitment to be a leading provider of healthy, safe, and sustainable building and cold chain solutions.
• Provide tactical support related to the review and approval of external communications materials, including editing, managing cross-functional approvals, original copy development, and more. Items generally include press releases, messaging, talking points, and articles, among others.
• Assist with the development of creative, strategic digital content for the Carrier Global website that can also be repurposed for internal employee communications and social media.
• Identify and support strategic award and recognition opportunities and submissions on behalf of our brands. Leverage and promote any successes through social and traditional PR campaigns.
• Develop a deep understanding of Carrier's messaging, brands, and products, capitalizing on the unique perspective a world headquarters position allows.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• US Citizen or Permanent Resident
• COVID-19 vaccines will be required for all newly hired Carrier U.S. Salaried employees
• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
• Writing and editing experience in print and/or online media or coursework
• Ability to multitask, work with a sense of urgency under demanding deadlines, and balance multiple projects
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as all key social media platforms
• Graphic design capabilities a plus (Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Video editing experience is a plus
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Self-driven and proactive
• Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects

EDUCATION

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field of study.
• GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0 GPA
• Relevant coursework or previous internships preferred
