    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The FP&A Senior Analyst – Operations Business Partner will serve as the bridge between the Finance function and Operations, providing financial insight and support across both service/construction jobs and recurring inspection contracts. This role is responsible for analyzing financial performance, job backlog and contract portfolio health, and profitability. Partnering with Operations leadership, Project Senior Analysts, and the FP&A Director, the Senior Analyst will identify performance drivers, develop KPIs, and design dashboards/reports that provide timely insights to decision-makers. This position will play a key role in long-range planning by linking operational insights to the company’s strategic growth objectives.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead monthly analyses of inspection contracts and service/construction job performance against budget.
    • Partner with the Ops Team and Project Senior Analysts to identify contract and job profitability drivers, and develop actionable insights to guide corrective actions
    • Translate financial analyses into recommendations for senior leadership and present findings to executive teams.
    • Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and reports to monitor contract portfolio and job backlog trends, provide timely insights to decision-makers, and inform rolling forecasts.
    • Perform deferred revenue analyses for inspection contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition and accurate forecasting.
    • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes by developing assumptions and models specific to each service line.
    • Provide ad hoc analyses to support decision-making across Finance and Operations.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of operational reporting and forecasting processes.

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex financial insights to non-financial leaders.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex datasets.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner across business functions.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Proficiency in Excel (advanced), Power BI, and Solver data warehouse/financial planning & reporting system.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline.
    • 2–4 years of progressive experience in FP&A, finance, or accounting.
    • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and financial accounting policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business leaders to interpret financial results, identify performance drivers, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
    • Experience creating and maintaining financial models in Excel or other systems.
    • Strong Excel skills.

    Preferred:

    • Experience with job costing, backlog analysis, deferred revenue, and contract analysis.
    • Experience with technology-enabled forecasting and data visualization tools (e.g., Solver, Anaplan, Power BI, Tableau), along with knowledge of database design concepts.
    • Experience in public accounting and/or licensed as a Certified Public Accountant.
    • Experience in private equity-owned or construction/contract-based businesses.
