    Position Summary:

    This is an ideal opportunity for an Electrical Engineering student with a strong interest in multidisciplinary systems, test and measurement systems, analog and digital electronics, to work in a Technical Operations Test Engineering department supporting the verification and validation of newly built automatic test equipment, troubleshoot electrical issues and develop root cause. MKS Instruments is the world’s leader in vacuum and pressure measurement instrumentation, supplying precision technologies to applications in semiconductor manufacturing and analytical instrumentation.

    Position Duties:

    • Work under the guidance of PCBA Test Engineers on the refinement and verification of test requirement specifications by setting up lab bench instrumentation to verify proper circuit behavior.

    • Assist in troubleshooting of test fixtures and or systems in production environment, soldering and debugging skills desired.

    • Conduct functional test on MKS PCBA test platforms to support production and analyze non-conforming PCBAs.

    • Help with inventory management of test assets, fixtures and floor layout initiatives.

    • Assist in shipping and receiving of test equipment to international contract suppliers.

    • Debug and validate newly built test system and fixtures.

    • Update test documents as needed to support production.

    Position Requirements:

    • Major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

    • At least (2) years in an accredited BS program.

    • A strong interest in test and measurement, multidisciplinary systems, analog and digital electronics.

    • Some hands-on experience preferred, but not required.

    • Available to complete a 6-month assignment is preferred.
