Position Overview – Fire Alarm Installer:
The Fire Alarm Installer will primarily support new system installations with additional duties including minor troubleshooting, device replacement, and periodic inspection support. Ideal candidates have solid field installation experience and are comfortable working independently or alongside a service technician or foreman.
Responsibilities:
Install fire alarm systems: wire pulls, conduit, device mounting, terminations, and control panel setup
Assist with system programming, testing, and final commissioning
Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and job specs
Support light service work: troubleshooting wiring issues, replacing devices, and responding to minor service calls
Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer instructions
Communicate clearly with team leads, project managers, and customers
Document work completed and maintain accurate jobsite records
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications:
2+ year of experience in fire alarm or low voltage system installation
Some experience with system troubleshooting or small service calls preferred
Familiarity with NFPA 72 and general fire alarm codes is a plus
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to lift 70+ lbs, work on ladders/lifts, and in various environments
NICET certification or state license a plus (but not required at hire)
