FreshDirect is seeking a college intern pursuing a BS/BA or a Masters in Business, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or any related degree for a business development internship opportunity. The position will be responsible for working on logistics modeling, gathering data to further improve routing logistics, analyzing labor and financial data to support FreshDirect. The position will be responsible for working with FD field operations, working in the field to gather data, creating training materials as well as training employees on how to use new equipment and processes. A creative problem solver with solid analytical skills will be an excellent asset to our team. This role may perform a variety of activities in support of functional areas within business development for any specific project. This position will be located at our Long Island City and our Bronx Facility. Working hours and days will vary based on project needs and the candidate should be open to a variable working schedule to support the operation needs Key ingredients * Research how FreshDirects Logistics work how systems, people, assets and time interact in the delivery processto build operations knowledge base

• Provide assistance to the business in the execution of their daily tasks * Use FreshDirects operating and business intelligence reporting platforms (e.g., SAP, Business Objects, MS Excel) to analyze production, labor and financial data * Support activities related to process change, from idea generation to technical specifications development through to implementation * Train employees how to use various systems and trouble shoot any issues in real time * Provide reporting support to logistics team on an ad-hoc basis * Additional Duties as assigned * Candidates should be pursuing a BA/BS or Masters in Business, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or any related field Must Have: * Able to present numerical data in a concise, logical and useful manner * Able to write for and work with a wide range of audiences, from executives to line workers * Be detail & result oriented in getting tasks accomplished * Self-motivated; ability to work with minimal supervision * Enjoy operating in a fast-paced environment * Be proactive, efficient, customer focused and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines * Be a team player and willing to pitch in so that goals of the team are met * Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required WARNING: Our food is processed in a facility that does not contain people who are toxic, rude, disrespectful, arrogant, egotistical, self-promoting, inconsiderate, or mean-spirited.
