We are looking for a full-time Aviation Technical Writer I for our Salem, Oregon Location. In this role, you will be responsible for researching and writing pilots guides, quick reference guides, installation manuals, and/or maintenance manuals. Other essential functions include: * Create electronic documents using word processing and desktop publishing tools * Communicate with the Design Engineers in areas that relate to the product specifications and product development * Facilitate the rework of mechanical drawings and screen captures Qualified candidates possess a Bachelors Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a field relevant to performing the essential functions of this job description or a minimum of 2 years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description. Other requirements include: * Must possess experience in the aviation industry and working with and/or using avionics * Must demonstrate proficiency using word processing tools such as Microsoft Word * Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision * Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment * Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills * Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others Experience and/or knowledge in electronics relevant to the essential functions of this job description, proficiency in effectively using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop, familiarity with aviation phraseology and flight operations procedures, and basic understanding of S1000D documentation standards is highly preferred!
