    Engineering Technician Under general direction of the Engineering Lab Supervisor, the Engineering Technician is responsible for the support of product engineering or manufacturing as required. The support may include, but is not limited to return product evaluation and repair, prototype builds, laboratory testing, product troubleshooting and failure analysis, and test fixture fabrication. PRIMARY DUTIES: Interpret engineering prints, sketches, and verbal communications in the efforts to build engineering and production prototypes. Perform testing as required by engineering or manufacturing and document results Mark up engineering prints and advise engineering in discrepancies during engineering and/or manufacturing prototyping/build activities. Support RA (Return Authorization) Group by evaluating/repair customer returns that are beyond the technical capabilities of RA technicians. Perform failure analysis on customer returns and report to engineering findings. Assist in the fabrication of production testers for engineering and production as directed by Engineering Lab Supervisor. EDUCATION REQUIRED: Associate of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (ASEET) EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2+ years experience in electronic and mechanical assembly work 2+ years of testing of electronic assemblies or sensors SPECIAL SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED : General electronic assembly and testing including soldering, thru-hole and surface mount hand processing. General mechanical assembly work including use of mechanical tools, use of chemical compounds (epoxies, encapsulants, adhesives, cleaning and bonding agents, etc), and use of fixturing. General use of electrical and mechanical equipment such as Digital Multimeters, electronic and mechanical gages, power supplies. Strong computer skills- Excel, Word, and Access. PLC, Labview, and C programming a plus. Good oral and written skills.
