Industrial Design Internship Louisville, KY, USA Administration ID:REQ-3181 Job Location USA, Louisville, KY Job Posting Title Industrial Design Internship The Adventure FirstBuild is seeking an Industrial Design intern to join our design team as we design, build, test, produce and sell a new world of home appliance innovations. This 6-12 month internship at the Louisville, KY based FirstBuild Makerspace & Microfactory is an excellent opportunity to experience the product design process in a fast paced and dynamic environment, providing valuable work experience by improving your skills & knowledge base. What you will Learn & Do Essential Responsibilities * Able to clearly communicate your concepts through presentations, design specifications, and prototypes. * Support design team efforts in terms of visual appearance, user experience, brand cohesion and graphics production. * Leverage research data and consumer feedback to support design decisions and improvements. * Work on a variety of product types and learn how to design brand centric products. * Learn to develop product for low to mid volume production using the FirstBuild microfactory. * Collaborate with others in the design process including engineering, usability, marketing, and suppliers. * Relocation assistance: Yes What you need to Succeed Qualifications/Requirements * Proficient in 3D computer modeling packages (Solidworks or Onshape) and 2D computer drawing and rendering packages (Illustrator/Photoshop, KeyShot) * Excellent sketching capabilities * Must be enrolled full-time at a school or university pursuing a degree in Industrial Design or related design program * Undergraduate or Graduate student with a 3.2 GPA or higher * Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas using verbal, written and visualization tools to present complex ideas in an easy to understand way * Must be willing and able to relocate to Louisville, KY for the duration of the internship About You: * Independently driven & able to thrive within a fast-paced and dynamic work environment * Curious and passionate about learning new technologies and processes * Can leverage prototyping/fabrication equipment experience to develop physical concepts * Team player who excels in collaborating within a diverse team setting.
