We want the very best talent to help lead something big.Job Overview20-hour per week paid internship available for a student to catalog and process assets within the collection of the General Mills Corporate Archive. Working hours are within the business hours of Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. The General Mills Corporate Archives serves as a secure repository for historically significant, non-current records documenting the founding, development, organization, management, and achievements of General Mills, the Washburn Crosby Company, the Pillsbury Company, and their subsidiaries (collectively known as GMI). Start Date: September 4, 2018End Date: May 31, 2019 Summary of work:Catalog assets using Sydney Enterprise Software.Catalog digital assets into MOJO, the companys Digital Asset Management system.Use proper archival preservation techniques to house and store assets. Assist with research requests.Assist with curation of exhibits and displays upon demand.Digitization of assets as needed.Provide access, use and evaluations of archival resources for individuals.Other tasks as assigned.QualificationsEnrolled in an archival, library or information science program with an expected graduation date of May 2019 or after.Strong research skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and ask questions.Ability to maintain focus while working on several projects at once.Strong verbal, written, organizational, time management and interpersonal communication skills.Use museum and archival best practices for handling, storing, and preserving assets.Maintain confidentiality as well as follow corporate policies.Ability to lift and maneuver 40-50 pound boxesExperience working with copiers, scanners, digital media such as CDs, online catalogs, as well as computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
