    Seat Complete Validation Engineer The Seat Complete Validation

    Engineering will focus on validation but may also include JIT testing as applicable to the validation plan. ** ** Responsibilities: * Create program specific structure ADV (Analysis, Development and Validation) Plans based on the VCRI (Validation Cross Reference Index), and gain TIE (Technical Integration Expert) approval. * Provide quality structure G2 e-SOR (electronic Statement Of Requirements) Appendices to include the seat validation VCRIs to specific timing. Provide part specific G2 e-SOR as required. * Aid team in the structure related Peer Review process. Lead validation portions of the reviews as applicable. * Create/Guide quality Shared Property Usage Requests to ensure complete validation. Use BIW (body in white) calculator and collaborate with electrical and body team to optimize time and counts required. * Review BOMs (Bill Of Material) for validation properties to ensure complete test-ready properties. * Review EWOs (Engineering Work Order). To ensure that the validation plans are properly documented especially for changes that affect validation. * Review CR/DNs (Change Request / Decision Notice) for validation impact and respond accordingly. * Review and Approve all structure ADV plans and test reports. Collect supporting data. * Visit suppliers, review test set-up, test progression, and completion. * Ensure Critical Design Validation and remaining Design Validation (DV) is completed on time to program specific milestones. * Ensure VTC (Validation Test Complete) and VDC (Validation Documentation Complete) dates are met. Escalate issues as appropriate using the executive escalation guidelines. * Attend PDT / PVT (Product Development Team /Product Validation Team) Meetings and lead validation discussions / report outs. * Monitor, Track, Report status to ADV Plans. Communicate validation status to JIT SVE. * Update and maintain Validation status using specified tools and methods. * Properly document validation issues using standard test reports. * Document Sufficiency of Validation on documented issues. * Work together with CAE for enhancement of capability for structure validation. * Review warranty parts and data as necessary. Evaluate if new methods are required to prevent or alleviate issues noted. * Work with SMT for quality related issues that impact validation. Test as required. * Understand test requirements in technical specification and GM standard work instructions and procedures for validating to customer expectations. Work to improve and alleviate discrepancies. Help to improve structure related GMWs as applicable based on DFMEA and lessons learned. * Provide validation expertise to the design and supplier organizations. * Participate in supplier technical and closed loop learning reviews. * Conduct DRBTRs (Design Review Based on Test Results) at the Vehicle and Subsystem level at GM and Suppliers. * Participate in DFMEAs / DRBFMs (Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis / Design Review Based on Failure Modes) for each program and test. * Review durability vehicles on regular basis. * Lead appropriate regulatory compliance documentation activities to scheduled timing. * Complete required training according to Validation Certification Program. * Attend appropriate departmental events. (Staff Meetings, All People Meetings) * Attend Global SSLT (Sub-System Leadership Team) forums upon request. * Special assignments as required. Must have at least 3 years of related work experience, or equivalent work experience required; Automotive supplier; Contract Engineer experience; SMT Experience; Test Engineer Experience; Advance Degree in Technical field (Preferred). Knowledge of seats, seat systems and seat related regulations is a must.
