The Product Strategy Analyst is responsible for providing insight into, and recommendations for, products, features, services, and other capabilities for Astronautics’ key customers. The development of such insight is to come through direct customer communication, interfacing with Astronautics Business Development and Program Management groups, publically available competitive information, and other avenues that can be identified to provide valuable input for Astronautics’ near and long-term product developments and adaptations. The primary objective of the Product Strategy Analyst is to ensure that Astronautics’ key products and offerings are aligned with the needs and desires of key market segments, including fixed and rotary wing aircraft for military and commercial operators. The role serves a means for Astronautics to clearly understand and articulate the value customers place on Astronautics’ products and capabilities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the development, execution, and adaptation of product and sales strategies for a portfolio of Astronautics’ products. Be able to communicate value propositions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the 'Voice of the Customer' is promoted to facilitate the sales of Astronautics products/services.
- Analyze markets and market segments to focus product and sales strategies on the highest value targets.
- Engage in strategic interaction with customers and operators to gain insight into the value of Astronautics products and services.
- Develop tools (questionnaires, surveys, focus groups, talking points, and other material or activities) for improved customer feedback, specifically from end users such as pilots, maintainers, and other crewmembers who interact with Astronautics’ equipment.
- Develop value propositions for customers to realize value from Astronautics products.
- Create business case studies to outline commercial strategies for success.
- Assess competitive products in the market and the value as compared to Astronautics product offerings.
- Monitor and report on competitor and market place trends.
- Provide quantitative and qualitative feedback to support product and sales strategies.
- Provide assistance in various areas of the business including, but not limited to, marketing communications, customer engagements, product demonstrations, and proposal writing.
- Minimal travel is expected but may increase over time.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- The ability to productively work both independently and as part of a team is a must
- The ability to analyze and develop a value proposition based on a review and analysis of the benefits, costs, and value to relevant market segments.
- The ability to communicate with pilots and other aviation professionals is critical
- The ability to analyze data and provide useful insights that help guide product and sales strategies
- The ability to understand and communicate Astronautics’ products and services
- A solid understanding of business management systems, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred technical or business degree
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Private pilot’s license, fixed or rotary wing; Advanced ratings and pilot experience a plus
- US Military Service, or background in working with the DOD or services
- Experience in sales and marketing, customer support, and/or program management roles
- Experience in aerospace industry, specifically avionics, instruments / displays technology
