Job Description Support of Melting and Refining process during the manufacturing of steel at and around the Ladle Metallurgic Furnace. Monitors and adjusts chemistry of molten steel and adds alloys per work instructions and based on customer specifications. Works alone and with others to support the process, as needed. Duties & Responsibilities * Follow work instructions as well as all safety rules and regulations * Read computer monitors, observes color of steel in the furnace, and adjusts controls to maintain specified temperatures in the furnace. * Performs general cleanup and housekeeping of work area. * Assists maintenance with repairs on down days or as necessary. * Assists in training of co-workers as necessary.

• Communicates to co-workers through two-way radio or hand signals. * Operate computer touch screens to manipulate equipment and products. * Insures that work area is stocked and that all necessary supplies are in place. The Individual 1. 1+ years of experience working in a mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial environment performing general labor duties- required 2. High school diploma or equivalent, required 3. Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime on short notice 4. Capable of operating a computer, required. 5. Effective communication is required 6. Must have a safety oriented attitude and capable of adhering to safety guidelines set by Gerdau.
