Gibbs Die Casting Corporation POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Trimmer DIVISION: Casting DEPARTMENT Trim REPORTS TO: Press Team Lead FLSA STATUS: Hourly MISSION : To ensure that customers receive a quality die cast product by removing unwanted runners and biscuits with a Trim Die Press, removing unwanted flash with a Wheelabrator and hand files, and by inspecting all parts before packaging for final shipment. ESSENTIAL GOALS, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all position operations as directed by SWAT charts and supervisors. Performs typical Trim Press operations to support production goals in accordance with the Gibbs Shop Floor Management System. Performs typical operation of Wheelabrator to support production goals in accordance with the Gibbs Shop Floor Management System. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Press Team Inspector or the Press Team Lead. Assists in final packaging of products to be shipped to the customer. Able to work weekends and overtime as required. Meets all physical and environmental requirements. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Follows all aspects of Safety as described in GDC Safety Roles and Expectations. Follows all prescribed safety regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment. Follows all TS16949 and ISO 14001 guidelines. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition according to established Gibbs 5-S Guidelines. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Mathematics: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning and Problem Solving: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
