    ROLE SUMMARY:

    The Financial Analyst II supports the Supply Chain Finance Manager with planning, forecasting, and budgeting with a focus on Logistics (Transportation and Warehousing). In addition, the analyst will partner with the cross functional Logistics team to own reporting, modeling, and analysis of financial and operational data.

     

    The Financial Analyst II will assist with identifying, analyzing, and interpreting key performance measures; engaging in “root cause” analysis to assess changes in metrics and underlying causes; assessing performance against history and benchmarks; and assessing the impact of various performance improvement efforts and measuring results.

     

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

    • Responsible for GPI North America Logistics reporting, consolidation and variance analysis that drive month end and forecast process for GPI NA Business Units.
    • Collaborate with key business partners to develop and coordinate the annual long-range business plan (LRP) and annual Plan process.
    • Assist supply chain’s Management team to report, monitor, interpret, and project financial and operational results
    • Synthesize metrics and data into practical insights and communicate those insights with confidence
    • Generate ad hoc financial models and data analysis. Work directly with other Supply chain areas as needed to execute projects
    • Improve current reporting processes and build dashboards to drive more effective and efficient analysis for the business unit finance teams, supply chain leadership, and business unit leadership.
    • Provide a source of business knowledge and problem-solving capabilities to assure sound analysis, recommendations and action programs within the centralized Supply Chain organization.

     

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

    • 2 - 5 years’ experience

     

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics

     

    CORE COMPETENCIES:

    • Proficient Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze financial data (variance analysis, trends, and cost savings valuations). This includes creating spreadsheets, exploring/explaining variances (price, volume. mix), identifying risks & opportunities, and making recommendations. Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Proficient Forecasting Knowledge: Ability to apply financial and cost forecasting concepts that include the development of forward-looking projections (for example, Logistics price/volume impacts).
    • Proficient in Navigating Finance Systems: Ability to research finance systems and processes. SAP, QlikView, and TM1 experience preferred (not required).
    • Effective Communication with Cross Functional Business Partners: Ability to work and communicate with all organization levels (including senior leaders); ability to present and explain financial information to non-finance professionals.
    • Great organizational skills and ability to multitask (meet key deadlines)
    • Ability to develop and demonstrate sound business acumen
