  • Responsibilities

    The production control manager is responsible for the planning, coordination and control of the manufacturing processes.  The production control manager ensures that correct amount of goods and services are produced timely, efficiently, at the right cost and quality level. The scope of the job includes, but is not limited to; order planning, coordination of Customer Service and Production Control, and shipment forecast and planning.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee the timely arrival of all raw materials and schedule production to meet customer delivery requirements.
    • Ensure that the production is cost effective, produced on-time and is of good quality.
    • Monitor the production processes and ensure schedule adjustments are made as needed.
    • Maintains and controls plant finished goods and raw material inventories
    • Manages the equipment production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements
    • Coordinate and manage the work-in-process and finished goods inventories through the SAP system.
    • Maintain positive relationships between Customer Service, Production Departments, Sales, Suppliers, and the Customer.
    • Serve as a troubleshooter resource for Customer Service and Manufacturing.
    • Manage the technology transfers between the Customer, Production Control, and Manufacturing.
    • Initiate/lead projects that improve customer satisfaction and/or reduce manufacturing costs.
    • Implement Lean Manufacturing
    • Communicates and coordinates with plant management staff the crewing, equipment, and material requirements to support production
    • Advise and communicate to the Customer Service Manager on all customer-related issues.
    • Work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals.
    • Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.
    • Supervise and motivate the Production Control team.
    • Review the performance of team.
    • Identify training needs.

    Required Skills

    ERP system experience required; SAP preferred

    Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Required Experience

    7 years of management/leadership experience in the offset printing industry or similar manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

    Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Management, Packaging or similar discipline
