  • Responsibilities

    Demonstrates knowledge and skills in adult learning principals, nursing career development, program development and management to include continuing education, and leadership. This role will serve to help nurses engage in lifelong learning to develop and maintain competencies, advance their professional nursing practice and facilitate achievement of academic and practice career goals.

    Required Skills

    1. Effective written and oral communication skills.
    2. Ability to plan and execute a full range of administrative tasks in operating a department.
    3. Ability to analyze complex problems and situations and realize potential effects of proposed actions.
    4. Knowledge of budget preparation, and personnel management.
    5. Advanced knowledge of educational principles and characteristics of the adult learner.
    6. Ability to access, plan, and develop complete curricula components and teach them to personnel who possesses varying levels of abilities.
    7. Advanced skills in teaching methodologies, techniques, and aids.
    8. Ability to develop and utilize evaluation tools.
    9. Proficient in creative problem solving.
    10. Possess good project management skills.
    11. Proficient in use of PC.
    12. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
    13. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

    Required Experience

    Work Experience Three years of experiences as an educator required. 

    Licensure/Certification: Current RN License to practice in the State of Texas. Attainment of the Nursing Professional Development Certification or an approved nursing certification in specialty area required within 3 years of being in the position.

    Education and Training Bachelor degree in Nursing required. Master in Nursing Education preferred.
