    MAINT/PLAN/SCHED III (MILL) – PAPER 

     

    MISSION / SUMMARY:

    The position will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of all mechanical maintenance in the designated department. In addition, this position receives and reviews each work order for completeness, validity of the priority, clarity and accuracy of information. Other activities include estimating maintenance jobs by showing sequence of steps, number of craftsperson man-hours and materials required. The position also plans and schedules mill maintenance including daily and annual downtime.

    JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

    • Partners with Operations Maintenance Coordinator and Paper Supervisor to ensure efficient planning and coordination of maintenance work.
    • Responsible for daily and annual outage maintenance planning in designated area.
    • Daily effective communication with hourly and salaried maintenance personnel.
    • Directs contractors and ensures compliance with safety and quality requirements.
    • Effectively maintain planned work order backlog to ensure it is greater than two weeks within regular work hours.
    • Create and maintain BOM’s and PM’s.
    • Ensures Contracted PM’s and Mill PM’s are recorded.
    • Ensures all PMs are presented to the MOPs team for scheduling.
    • Participates in Maintenance weekend duty rotation.
    • Occasionally backfills for Maintenance Supervisor or Assistant Superintendent – Maintenance Paper.

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

    • Five plus years’ progressive and practical paper operation experience.

     

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • High School diploma or GED.
    • 3-5 years of maintenance planning experience preferred.
    • 3-5 years of maintenance experience.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of reliability concepts and application
    • Ability to read schematics.
    • Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Projects and Microsoft Office.

     

    SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

    • GENERAL SCHEDULE IS AN 8-HOUR M-F ASSIGNMENT, HOWEVER, EMPLOYEE MUST BE WILLING TO WORK ALTERNATE SCHEDULES OCCASIONALLY; THAT MAY INCLUDE EARLY MORNINGS, NIGHTS, AND/OR WEEKENDS AND BE PUNCTUAL WHILE DOING SO. OCCASIONAL OVERNIGHT TRAVEL TO INCLUDE FLYING, DRIVING, RIDING OR BY RAIL.

     

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Sitting or standing for extended periods up to 8-hours.
    • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
    • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
    • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
