    The Tuscaloosa, AL plant is seeking an early-career Human Resources Manager to join the local leadership team and enter the HR talent pipeline for future growth and/or promotional opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career with a Fortune 500 manufacturing organization with over 90 global locations. The desired candidate will have prior human resources business partner or generalist experience in a manufacturing setting and an interest in future relocation for professional growth. 

     

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

    • Leading core aspects of the HR function at the plant level including employment, compensation, employee relations, benefits, GPI Culture, training and other employee services.
    • Ensures consistent application of company policies, benefits, compensation guidelines, fair treatment of employees, training, recruitment, etc.
    • Leading employee engagement activities by actively listening to the employee population and developing responsive programs and procedures along with the plant leaders. 
    • Oversees administration of the employee benefit programs, affirmative action, compensation, performance appraisal programs, personnel recordkeeping, HRIS, unemployment claims, etc.
    • Manages payroll and reports for Salary Non-Exempt, Hourly and Temporary workers.
    • Oversee workforce planning activities, monitoring plant staffing needs including temporary labor.
    • Counsels managers and supervisors regarding employee relations issues, including investigations, corrective action, performance reviews, hiring and separation decisions and recommends actions which are consistent with corporate and local policies/values as well as applicable laws and regulations.
    • Developing deep community relationship local community/philanthropy efforts.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook and payroll processing.
    • Must possess strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
    • Must possess strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards.
    • Individual must be adept at analyzing and recommending solutions to a variety of problems and subjects.

     

    Required Experience

    • A Bachelor's Degree with 5-8 years of Human Resources Management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    • Thorough understanding of Human Resources policies and practices.
    • Experience with SAP a plus.
