    PROCESS ENGINEER

     

    LOCATION: Fort Smith, AR  

    BUSINESS UNIT/CORPORATE FUNCTION: Consumer Packaging Division

    Responsible for all aspects of Lean Deployment and Six Sigma Activities. Responsible for providing technical support for capital improvement projects.  Develops or improves equipment / processes by applying creative and innovative engineering applications to achieve “state-of-the-art” technologies.

    JOB FUNCTIONS

    LEAN INITIATIVES:

    • Provide leadership to Continuous Improvement initiatives.
    • Provides technical training and support to management and employees with regards to the plant’s Lean initiatives, including 5S and housekeeping standards.
    • Schedules, develops, facilitates, implements, and tracks Lean events and activities. Includes the development of training materials
    • Compiles, analyzes, and interprets data related to Lean projects.
    • Executes Six-Sigma / Black Belt projects as assigned (utilizing the formal DMAIC methodology).
    • Contribute to Lean projects at the Divisional level.

    PROCESS ENGINEER INITIATIVES:

    • Provide technical expertise and leadership in equipment improvement projects (Capital and Non-Capital)
    • Assists in the conception, development, design, and performance of various operations and maintenance improvement projects
    • Initiates and supports continuous process improvement efforts for all departments
    • Compiles, analyzes, and interprets data related to process improvement projects.
    • Develops cost estimates for maintenance improvement projects
    • Assists with the maintenance of all technical documentation including prints, manuals, and process software

    CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES:

    • Act as change agent to drive continuous improvement of production and service processes to improve quality and increase efficiency, which includes root cause analysis and problem solving.
    • Drive cost savings initiatives and track progress towards plant goals.
    • Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Quality, Engineering, or related field preferred

    • 5-10 years quality experience preferred including:

    • Lean, Six Sigma, 5S

    • Capital Improvement Projects

    • Manufacturing

    • Proficient with MicroSoft Office, Outlook ,and internet research skills

    • Experience with SAP preferred

    • Autocad experience preferred

    • Proven track record of identifying opportunities and the ability to recommend and implement improvements

    • Project Management

    • Leader with exceptional communication skills, good organization, and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
