MISSION / SUMMARY:
Graphic Packaging is looking for INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR to support ongoing growth in export and import logistics department. This candidate is responsible collaborating with GPI’s internal and external global customers, freight forwarders, warehouse providers, intermodal providers, and ocean freight liners. They will work collaboratively across Graphic Packaging organization to identify root cause and inefficiencies. This role will initiate, lead and support improvement projects focused on International Transportation performance metrics. Strong collaboration required with Global and Market Procurement, Trade Compliance, Business Relationship Partners, Finance, and Facilities.
This role will lead ocean, drayage, freight forwarding and cross border vendors to optimize efficiency, service, and cost to support GPI’s transportation requirements. They will be responsible for supporting development of mode strategy with the Business Relationship Partners and Procurement Team.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
EXPORT OPERATIONS AND EXECUTION
- Collaborates with multiple stakeholders throughout the organization (inland warehouse and logistics providers, freight forwarder, demand planning, customers) to ensure on time and in full product delivery
- Collaborates with Sourcing team by providing inputs from operational perspective, having a balanced approach to support savings initiatives while also taking into consideration service
- Establishes relationships with US colleagues as well as colleagues overseas understanding operational constraints to implement sustainable solutions
- Accountable for End-to-End process of Order to Delivery for all substrates related to international business
- Accountable for delivering against Export shipment plan and de-risking the plan to maximize outbound shipments; highlighting challenges that impede achieving the plan and providing recommendations on how to resolute
- Implements methods of measuring success; holds team accountable and serves as a coach to improve the process and develop the team
- Serves as escalation to freight forwarder addressing escalated issues with vendors by providing quick resolution
- Operational lead for intermodal, export warehouses and Mexico/Canadian supply chain
- Researches and offers optimal transportation modes, routings, equipment, and frequency options to customer by Analyzing inland transportation options, sailing schedules and warehouse loading capabilities
- Analyzes production schedule and sailing schedules to provide shipping forecast vs allocation, ensuring capacity aligns with shipment execution
- Supports Execution of Monthly targets, oversees operations, mitigates risks
- Responsible for handling complaints and claims and resolve in timely manner
- Attend logistics provider QBRs and provide operational input and perspective
TRADE & COMPLIANCE
- Provides support for Trade and Compliance for Imp-Ex Operations
- Supports the Audit and compliance across the portfolio to make sure all processes are compliant with respect to local and international laws
- Documents and strives for export operational excellence. Ensures best practice are being followed among business units, freight forwarders and warehouses
STRATEGY
- Provides support in capability development Process improvements, Systems & tools for better future
- Assists in building Analysis, Dashboards, Control towers for international shipments
- Manages the stakeholder communication and alignment to eliminate noise in the system
- Encourages actions and behaviors that are innovative, futuristic, and proactive

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
- 7-10 + years of international logistics experience.
- Transportation Operations and Supply Chain Management experience
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong leadership skills and ability to lead others through influence.
- Negotiating skills; Analytical ability
- Networking and Relationships Management – Build internal and External Relationships
- Ability to work in multicultural environment
- Organizational agility: know how to get things done in a large company.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong systems aptitude and proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel. Proficiency in Microsoft Access. Logistics Management System background with specific focus on warehousing and ocean freight.
- Advanced computer skills including ERP and TMS applications (e.g., SAP, JDE, etc.) Is a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree required; Masters preferred
- Proficient in Spanish and English preferred; not required
- Demonstrated ability to implement creative solutions while working under deadlines
