GAC Savannah Unique Skills: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Art and Design - Illustrations, Computer Art, Industrial Design, CAD Technical graphics etc. CAD [MicroStation or AutoCAD preferred], 3D Animation applications [CATIA, SAP Visual Enterprise, May, Cinema 4D, etc.] and Adobe Creative Cloud [Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop preferred]. This is for a Summer Intern Position. The selected student(s) for this position must be available to work at least 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, May through August. Expected timeline for our internship selection period: * This position will be posted until 12/3/2018 * Resumes will be reviewed in December * You should know in January if you will be moving on to the interview stage in the process Principal Duties and Responsibilities: ? Under general supervision, create new and/or make revisions to existing orthographic illustrations, isometric, and axonometric projections, three dimensional procedural animations, block and schematic diagrams for aircraft technical manuals and other related graphical publications utilizing electronic methodology.? Create and manipulate graphics using advanced commercial technical illustrating computer based design programs and systems.? Work comfortably with model-based design, use three-dimensional (3D) model technologies, and create model animation that can be delivered through multiple sources of media (print, web, USB, Windows/IOS). ? 1. Prepare, construct and revise orthographic illustrations, axonometric and isometric projections, using CAD (MicroStation or AutoCAD preferred). 2. Review, Download, and manipulate three dimensional models. Construct, and animate model installations for use in online interactive manuals using Visual Enterprise Author. 3. Determine optimum graphic approach; prepare master artwork under supervision, charts, visual, booklets, and signs, working with all aspects of technical graphic production by utilizing electronic illustrating equipment. 4. Work with technical writers and other illustrators to effectively visualize and conceptualize illustrations and 3D/2D data and have it display correctly in the latest type deliverable (print, USB, Web, Most OS). 5. Ensure illustrations conform to current corporate, ATA 100, S1000D, FAA, and commercial aircraft technical manual specifications and Gulfstream style requirements. 6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of artwork techniques, materials, and equipment. 7. General knowledge of equipment's related to and associated with electronic illustrating tools, including: High-resolution scanners, PC s, related 3D/2D illustration software, printers, and general knowledge of electronic publishing systems, and its data requirements. ? Education and Experience Requirements: ? 1. Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Art and Design, Computer Animation (2D or 3D), graphic design, technical illustration, or related art and design field. 1. Applicants must graduate from their current academic program after August 2019 or have plan to continue their education in the Fall (ie. bachelors to masters). 2. May 2019 graduates will not be considered and should apply to full-time positions. 2. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at the time of application required and must be listed on the submitted resume. GPA must remain above a 3.0 through the Spring semester. Transcripts will be checked and we do not average transfer credits from one institution to another. 3. Proficient in Microsoft Suite. 4. Some experience in electronic technical illustrating experience in aerospace or a similarly related field desirable. 5. Strong communication skills.? 6. Must have access to reliable transportation for the duration of the internship. ?
