UNDERGRADUATE Supply Chain & Operations Internship Henry Schein Animal Health - Des Moines, IA Internship SUMMER 2018 - This paid undergraduate internship opportunity will focus on Inventory Control within the Distribution Center in Des Moines, IA. Current student working toward degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or other comparable undergraduate or graduate program. Summary Learn, review, and observe the outbound operation of the Distribution Center to ensure timely, accurate product receipt, order fulfillment, and the organization of resources while continually seeking feedback and improving processes to ensure the customers expectations are exceeded every day. Job Description: Partners with DC Manager to develop plans and directs all distribution activities including shipping and routing and administrative tasks to ensure company requirements are met. Gathers feedback regarding the customer expectations, makes recommendations to DC Manager and implements appropriate changes to continually improve the customers experience. Provides input for efficient organization and layout of the warehouse by optimizing processes for picking, packing, and shipping customer orders while maintaining DC compliance with all governmental agencies and their regulations Reviews current or future trends that indicate possible gaps in outbound process and makes recommendations based on findings Participates on distribution center management team; Conducts observations to identify areas for change; conducts analyses to develop action plans to address operational and employee needs Provides daily status updates to DC Manager to review prior days performance Ensures team members are being safe and accident free. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required Current student working toward degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or other comparable undergraduate or graduate program Minimum 6 months work experience Strong PC skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Good analytical, problem-solving, time management, organization, and negotiation skills. Good oral and written communication skills with a focus on delivering excellent internal and external customer service as well as the ability to operate as a team member.
