    MISSION / SUMMARY: The Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) is a vital person for an effective Maintenance Planning and Scheduling process for the Extruder Department and is the leader of the area MOPS Team.  The OMC is responsible for the coordination of all maintenance and repair work and the improvement and sustainability of overall equipment reliability in the area.  The OMC has full authority for requesting, approving and controlling all maintenance and repair work in the work area as well as management of the Base Stock Warehouse.

     

    JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

    • Leads Daily MOPS and Weekly Scheduling Meetings as outlined in the workflow process
    • Works with Operations and Maintenance teams to identify work for the area and generate work order requests based on need and priority for the day/week
    • Review Operator Round reports and finds to generate work requests for corrective action
    • The OMC checks to be sure all requests are correctly prepared with the following criteria;
      • Assures the work request contains detailed and necessary information and documentation
      • Assures that the work order has the correct equipment location and work type
      • Assigns realistic priority, target completion date that is consistent with the overall needs of the area
      • Determines if improvement, indirect, work is expense versus capital and takes actions accordingly.
      • Utilize the “management of change” process appropriately
      • Authorizes work requests
      • Manage department spending and checkbook
    • Utilizes up-to-date backlog reports to coordinate maintenance activities in his/her area of responsibility. Uses this backlog as a guide to specify planned work to be scheduled and planned, not a separate priority list
    • Follows up with Maintenance Supervisor on work being performed by maintenance, and contractors in his/her area of responsibility for proper efficient execution and completion. Working with Assistant Superintendent Maintenance, authorizes overtime as needed to complete critical work in a timely manner
    • Supports the Maintenance Planner in detailed planning for daily, weekly and shutdown process.
    • Takes steps to have engineering involved in chronic problems addressed to identify RCF and resolve
    • Responsible for overall management of the Base Stock Warehouse
      • Sustain accurate Base Stock inventory
      • Prioritize bay locations
      • Conduct bi-annual cycle counts
    • Manage PIT maintenance
    • Backfill Extruder Assistant Superintendents as needed
    • Maintains chronic equipment list, and “when down do list” and uses it for resource allocation and scheduling

    Required Skills

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

    • 2+ years experience in manufacturing required
    • Knowledge of extruder department, a plus
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

     EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • Bachelor Degree (Technical) or equivalent experience

     SKILLS:  Skills include but not limited to the following.

    • Effective written and verbal communications and problem-solving skills
    • Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Software, Excel, Word and Outlook
    • SAP Business Software Knowledge preferred

    SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

    • General schedule is M-F assignment; however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
    • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

     PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Sitting or standing for extended periods up to 8-hours.
    • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
    • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
    • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
