Lean Program Analyst 7979 Lean Program Analyst Hershey, Pennsylvania, United States Aug 23rd 2018 Position summary: Job Location: Hershey, PA Summary: The Lean Analyst will support the launch of Hershey Lean and build capabilities in the line centric team around Daily Direction Setting (DDS) processes and Daily Management System (DMS). Additionally, he/she will support plant management in the creation of the Compelling Business Need (CBN) and focus team. The Lean Analyst will leverage deep expertise in Hershey Lean and work with the Program Lead and Operations Excellence (OpEx) Manager to launch & support roll-out of new lines. The Lean Analyst will provide on-going support throughout the development phase of the Business Unit organizations & Pillars. Responsibilities: * Provide analytical support to Program Lead, OpEx Manager and Plant Manager to develop the CBN * Support BU/line leadership in the setting up of Daily Direction Setting (DDS) by training and coaching them on the Hershey Lean process and sharing best practices * Support line leadership in implementing the six foundational DMS tools of Hershey Lean * Coach and train line centric team on proper execution of DDS and DMS * Run working sessions with line centric team and operators * Write training presentations as required to support DDS and DMS work * Facilitate best practice sharing with other facilities on DDS and DMS tools * Ensure critical adherence to program continuity * Support the development of Hershey Lean Pillars Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Strong communication skills both written (e.g. PowerPoint) and oral * Heavy emphasis on collaboration and coaching with Hershey Lean and plant teams * Strong problem solving skills * Experienced in data collection and analysis * Ability to use SAP to gather production data. Ability to create production performance data from raw or alternative sources if SAP is not available. * Knowledge and experienced in CI systems and methodologies including TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma * Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities * Ability to influence, train and provide feedback to all levels of the plant organizations * Demonstrated ability to use a coaching mindset to build capability and confidence in team in utilizing the Hershey Lean system principles * Ability to travel about 50% of the timeespecially when assigned to out of town locations. Education and Experience Requirements: * Bachelors degree required; a degree in an engineering or related discipline, strongly preferred. * Experience in an automated manufacturing environment preferred. * Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma certification. * Completion of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is preferred. * Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing (preferably in food processing engineering) #LI-DC1 The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
