THE ADVENTURE GE Appliances is seeking an intern to work with seasoned human factors experts, UX and Industrial Designers. Our team supports an enormously diverse product portfolio and answers a large array of research questions. During this internship, you will gain hands-on experience with a diverse human factors toolset, domain applications, and methodologies such as virtual human modeling, ergonomic evaluations, eye tracking, accessibility, hardware/ software prototyping, and in person as well as remote usability testing. This is a 6 month internship with possibility of extending to 12 months.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN & DO

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, execute, and conduct analysis of user research for a variety of appliances and mobile apps.
• Conduct rapid, iterative usability testing with a variety of methods.
• Reference ergonomic databases and existing literature to synthesize design guidelines.
• Synthesize research insights into effective user-centered design.
• Set up and maintain a usability lab.
• Summarize and interpret quantitative data.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited school or university
• Undergraduate or Graduate student with a 3.2 GPA or higher
• Basic understanding of hypothesis testing and descriptive data analysis.
• Basic skills summarizing qualitative and interview data.
• Experience with human factors/UX methods (course work or industry experience).
• Experience with iterative usability testing procedures and analysis.
• Must be willing and able to relocate to Louisville, KY for THE AGREED UPON DURATION OF THE INTERNSHIP.

Most positions are located in Louisville, KY (our Corporate HQ). Assignments are also available in Camden, SC; Decatur, AL; LaFayette, GA; Selmer, TN. Housing and relocation assistance is available for eligible students.
