    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The QC Technician I EIMEA reports to the QC Team Leader, as applicable. He/she ensures appropriate quality control execution, shows responsibility for quality assurance tasks and participates in quality management initiatives.

    PRIMARY DUTIES

    This individual will be involved in a variety of actions and in contact with several functions wherever quality planning, execution, control or action (PDCA) is applied. Contacts and partners will be internal in the HBF group as well as external, for contacts with suppliers and customers:

    PRIMARY DUTY • Ensuring of Quality Control o Ensures raw materials, intermediate & finished goods are released/rejected as to test plan. o Leads investigations if results are outside control parameters o Records all test results (conducting SPC charts in database and ERP system. o Labels and stores retains as instructed o Creates and provides CoA as requested

    • Responsibility for Quality Assurance o Records control results and notes status changes in the ERP system o Creates internal nonconformance reports (QFR), identifies root causes and tracks actions in the CAPA action tracker to validation o Pushes the implementation and validation of the effectiveness of corrective and preventative measures (Internal NC , internal/external audits/ customer complaints/alerts) o Decides about release or reject of raw materials, intermediates and finished products according to existing test plans and specifications o Participates during MOC process and scale up of new products o Checks and decide regarding shelf life extension in alignment with R&D o Ensures that stock management (INSP, RWRK, DISP and HOLD) is optimized and material is labelled according to procedures. o Supports all functions to ensure quality improvements

    • Participation in Quality Management o Involved in level 1 & 2 audits (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, Hygiene, Housekeeping, Sustainability) o Leads defects’ investigations for level 1 (internal) and level 2 ( customer/supplier) using core tools (as 5 Why, Ishikawa, 8 D), leads quality circles o Works closely with production and R&D in order to continuously improve products, processes and the QA system o Promotes quality awareness and supports that SOP are followed (operational discipline) o Ensures that test equipment is in good working order and calibrated as scheduled o Ensures ‘safety first’ is respected in lab areas and good housekeeping is maintained o Ensures that legal compliance is respected in QA

    • Other duties (whereof 1 is typically required) o takes a special role within the matrix organization, e.g. as a representative o improves a method or a process continuously and communicates these efforts o is specialist for requirements of a key customer, generates and communicates an overview o develops and provides special knowledge about products and their application within QA o develops and communicates knowledge management within QA

    Required Skills

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Chemical-technical assistant (preferred from apprenticeship or technical college) • or 4+ years’ experience in Quality Control • or 3+ year experience in the adhesive industry (HMMC, HMTP, Polymer, WB) • Broad knowledge of quality control procedures • Knowledge of quality control • Experienced with testing methods for several product technologies like WB, HMMC and HMWW. • Knowledge in application reviews and performance testing (e.g: setting, coating) • SPC knowledge • Ability to work closely to procedures and to improve their efficiency • Experience with ISO 9001 and basic knowledge of IATF 16949 would be beneficial • Excellent (German), fluent (English) written and verbal communication skills • Computer skills Word, Excel advanced, Access • Knowledge of SAP or Prism

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Precision and accuracy as key skills • Team orientation, social competency and strong sense of responsibility • Ability to assert oneself, organization & prioritization skills
