The candidate will assist the Indirect Supply Chain team with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies to drive significant value from the supplier base. The outcome of this project will be a clearly defined, qualified supplier base (including primary and secondary identification), and a completed Category Strategy for key Goods / Services . This will include an indepth analysis of existing and emerging trends within each category including new technology or other solutions, areas of risk and opportunity (for future negotiations) and expected market forecast .Candidate will meet with various stakeholders within Illumina to understand their needs and partner with them on the development of these items. This position may also assist in reviewing and negotiate pricing and contractual terms and conditions (Tsamp;Cs) as requested including consolidating and preparing relevant data analysis (bid comparisons, etc.). Education:nbsp; * Current student pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and/or other master's degree in process * Relevant course work in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Business is preferred. Qualifications/Skills:nbsp; * Minimum of 3 years business or military experience is strongly preferred. * Strong project management, analytics, and problem-solving skills are strongly preferred. * Familiarity with Indirect Procurement Commodities (IT, Facilities, HR or Professional Services) * Working understanding of procurement and contracting best practices * Proficient in Ariba, SAP, or other ERP systems. * Experience working in a regulated industry (life sciences or similar) is a plus. Soft Skills: * Must have excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills (both oral and written) within all levels of the organization. Must be able to manage relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders. * Demonstrate the ability to think analytically and to conduct appropriate research to resolve discrepancies.
