Responsibilities * Correlate customer consumable performance data to internal process factors and QC metrics * Create data aggregations from multiple raw data sources (data bases, flat files) * Build re-usable analysis pipelines using a statistical approach to detect meaningful correlations * Create data visualizations to demonstrate the importance of key findings * Identify targets for consumable specifications improvements based on field performance correlation information * Collaborate with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, and other departments as needed to execute project * Provide technical input on information system architecture Requirements * Extremely good data analysis skills and a logical approach to problem solving * Ability to understand data in whatever format its presented, and effectively use it to communicate a story and drive action * Database query experience required (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) * Strong programming skills required (R and Python languages preferred) * Experience with Tableau or other dynamic reporting tools preferred * Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous requirements, adapt quickly, and learn * Detail-oriented, proactive, works independently, works well with others * High degree of initiative and ownership, as well as a proven history of delivering results while working with several different departments in a fast-paced environment * Strong organizational skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Big data experience is a plus Qualifications * Must be enrolled in a Masters program in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or related analytics field This role is located in San Diego, CA.nbsp; Candidates can apply to intern roles through October 31st, at which time they will be removed from posting.nbsp; Please save the job description for all roles to which you applied, in order to reference once the postings are removed.
