Responsibilities: An intern in this role will manage/assist with one or more of the following projects in Quality Assurance: * Gap analysis of existing specifications for incoming parts and development of documented inspection criteria in alignment with company procedures. Recommend and assist with implementation for solutions. * Undertake a study comparing Hayward Quality Assurance norms and practices with Singapore Quality Assurance for the same scope of work. Make recommendations to bring different practices into alignment. Possible areas of focus include incoming inspection, handing of nonconforming materials, change management and deviations. * Work with QA subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement visual management for real-time tracking of Quality performance. This may involve collaboration and best practices sharing with another Illumina site. Qualifications/Skills: The successful candidate will have an interest in Quality as a career path, demonstrate initiative in previous work assignments, be a good communicator and team player, and work effectively in a collaborative and fast paced environment. * Must be a rising senior or graduating senior pursuing a Bachelors program in a scientific or engineering discipline. (minimum 3.2 GPA) * A strong history of academic achievement. * Exhibit professionalism and work in a confidential work environment * Understanding nbsp;of Microsoft operating systems i.e Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Strong problem solving skills. * Ability to effectively use troubleshooting and technical skills. * Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Able to follow standards and protocols for inspection, testing, and evaluation. * Demonstrated ability to work as a self-starter in a collaborative, self-directed manner in a fast-paced environment * Passionate about Quality Assurance.nbsp; This role is located in Hayward, CA.nbsp; Candidates can apply to intern roles through October 31st, at which time they will be removed from posting.nbsp; Please save the job description for all roles to which you applied, in order to reference once the postings are removed.
