    Mycology Internship - Summer 2019 Location: Norman, OKDepartment: Raw Materials Type: InternshipMin. Experience: Student (College) Job purpose Over the course of a summer semester, the Mycology and Cell Culture intern will work with the IMMY Antigen and Cell Culture Specialists to prepare fungal cultures, harvest antibody, and purify antigens and antibodies. This internship will also include product testing using immunodiffusion and complement fixation methodologies. This job is a temporary job intended for the summer semester of 2019. Currently, this internship is not eligible for renewal. Internship experience includes: * Exposure to an FDA- and ISO-regulated IVD manufacturing facility * Reading Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and Device Master Records (DMRs) * Applying proper documentation to Device History Records (DHRs) * Cultivation of fungal antigen cultures in a BSL-3 laboratory * Recombinant protein purification * Maintenance, harvesting, and quantification and qualification of antibody * Media preparation * Large-scale buffer manufacturing * Determining concentration, purity, and optimal dilution of antigens and antibodies for IMMY products * Any other assigned duties Credits This is a paid internship; which also may be used for course credit. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Must have basic laboratory skills * Must be proficient in aseptic technique * Must have completed at least 2 years at an accredited college or university with courses in microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry * Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or better * Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite * Must have good teamwork and effective communication skills * Must be comfortable performing repetitive tasks with a high attention to detail * Must be committed to meeting attendance requirements Desired qualifications: * Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field laboratory experience * Protein purification and quantification experience * *
