This position is responsible for the optimization of the plant’s processes and systems. The Industrial Engineer (IE) will eliminate waste of time, money, materials, man-hours, machine time, energy and other resources that do not generate value.
The IE improves operational efficiencies and delivers savings which improve our profitability, market position, and competitiveness. The IE will help influence the strategy for the plant/DC by identifying projects and implementing solutions which will result in a new level of sustained, operational effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following.

25% : Executes optimization strategies by translating business objectives into projects to improve inventory, productivity, scrap/defect etc.
25% : Supports creating and implementing local Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and tactics at the manufacturing and distribution facility level.
10% : Create standards and transfer best practices throughout Gates facilities.
25% : Assist in the design of work standards, quality control charts and systems and other elements of operational excellence to aid plant improvement.
15% : Help establish meaningful plant metrics which monitor performance at a level sufficient to illustrate the true root cause of problems.
