    Join our team at Air Technical Industries, where your skills as an Industrial Welder - Fitter will directly contribute to enhancing workplace safety and ergonomics. You'll be part of a team that transforms raw materials into unique, customized heavy-duty lifting equipment. Your role involves the precise layout, fitting, and welding of structural steel and heavy weldments, ensuring each piece meets our high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities: • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to lay out and fabricate components. • Fit, align, and weld heavy steel structures used in cranes, lift tables, upenders, and other custom handling equipment. • Perform MIG, Stick, and Flux-Core welding (vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions). • Operate fabrication equipment such as cutting torches, grinders, magnetic drills, and overhead cranes. • Conduct dimensional inspections to ensure parts meet tolerances and quality standards. • Maintain a safe and organized work area, adhering to company and OSHA safety standards. • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to solve fabrication challenges. • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and product quality. Qualifications: • 3+ years of welding and fitting experience in heavy steel fabrication (preferably in cranes, material handling, or industrial machinery). • Proficient in MIG and Flux-Core welding; Stick welding experience is a plus. • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and structural drawings. • Experience with heavy plate fabrication and large weldments. • Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on accuracy and detail. • Familiarity with aerospace or primary metals industry standards is a plus. • Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes (certification preferred). • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding shop environment. Compensation: $22 - $26 hourly
