What will my job really be?

The Polaris Information Systems Development Program (ISDP) offers you the unique opporutunity to accelerate your career development, business knowledge, and leadership skills through four six month long rigourous business rotations within the IS department. In each rotation you will be challened to develop your skills and further build your business foundation and accelerate your career development for future positions of significant responsibility.

Polaris is a fast paced environment, priding itself on staying up to date with cutting edge technology. Some examples include virtualization, hybrid storage, unified communications, agile and rapid development.

What to expect:

You will have an individualized development plan of four, six month long rotations in IS. These rotations are designed to help build a solid and well-rounded business background, focused in IS. You will be able to choose from three different tracks: Application Design/Development, Business Resource Management, or Infrastructure.

The Applications track is best suited for 2018 graduates in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Compluter Engineering. You will gain exposure to the following areas:

• System Analysis and Design
• Application Development/Coding
• Business Intelligence

The Business Resource Management track is best suited for 2018 graduates in Information Systems Management or Business Administration/Management. It will give the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of Polaris Business Units in the following roles:

• Business Analysis/Product Ownership
• Project Management/Scrum

The Infrastructure track is best suited for 2018 graduates in Computer Science, Network Security, or Computer Engineering. You to gain experience and exposure to Polaris infrastructure and network environments through:

• Database/SharePoint Administration
• Network Administration
• Systems Administration/Cloud
• Desktop Adminstration/Client Services
• Security Administration

Checklist for success:

• A superior undergraduate academic record (overall GPA of 3.0 minimum) with a Bachelor’s degree
• Proven academic success in key Computer Science courses with an emphasis on Windows Operating environments (desktop and servers) and SQL database administration
• The desire to work in a team environment and take a proactive leadership role
• The drive to actively contribute to both personal and company-wide goals through creative and innovative thinking
• Proven strength in analysis and creative problem solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership
• Geographic Mobility
