The **Gardner Denver Nash division of Ingersoll Rand **has an exciting opportunity for a **Machinist **at our **Moody, AL **facility.The **Machinist **should possess a background in Machine Operation along with the ability to work overtime as needed.

*** ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS***

• Performs set ups of large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump components and operations of large Vertical & Horizontal Lathes used to repair and overhaul Large Liquid Rind Vacuum Pumps & Compressors;
• Interprets blueprints/drawings to determine critical dimensions, etc;
• Able to read Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Dial Indicators & other precision measuring & test equipment as required
• Able to maintain low tolerances as indicted by specifications or drawings as low as .0005” at times
• Understands how to select appropriate cutting tools for various metals
• Understands how to determine speeds and feeds to obtain proper surface finish
• Able to work overtime; typically throughout the week and occasionally on weekends
• Safe operation of Forklift within a Machine Shop environment;
• Lifting and Rigging of heavy components of various configurations & weights
• Safe Over Head Crane operation
• Adheres to all company EH&S & QMS processes
• Other responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATONS:

Experience Required:

• Previous experience setting up and operating large Manual Vertical & Horizontal Lathe

• Strong Mechanical Aptitude

• Ability to read and interpret standard and metric dimensions from blueprints;

• Ability to perform basic preventative maintenance on operations of Vertical & Horizontal Lathes.

Education Required:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required
• Technical/vocational degree in Machining highly desired
