SUMMARY:
Assemble, fabricate, and test mechanical parts, systems, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line in a manufacturing organization. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read, interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment(s) and products.
Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, and Product Management as required on system builds, test/certify/life cycle new or sustaining products.
Utilize manual tools and pneumatic tools.
Maintain inventory of product in work stations.
Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards.
Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
Maintain cleanliness (5S) of work area daily
Participate in continuous improvement goals of the work site
SKILLS / EQUIPMENT:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
Ability to use various power (Pneumatic) hand tools (i.e.; power screwdriver, socket etc.)
Knowledge of tube bending, cut off and deburring
Ability to understand blueprints.
Strong computer hardware understanding and proficiency
Possess knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, connecting wires to terminals, AC/DC current concepts.
Systems fabrication strongly preferred.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
3+ years’ experience in heavy mechanical assembly
