  • Responsibilities

    SUMMARY:

    Assemble, fabricate, and test mechanical parts, systems, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line in a manufacturing organization. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Read, interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment(s) and products.

    • Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, and Product Management as required on system builds, test/certify/life cycle new or sustaining products.

    • Utilize manual tools and pneumatic tools.

    • Maintain inventory of product in work stations.

    • Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards.

    • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.

    • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.

    • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.

    • Maintain cleanliness (5S) of work area daily

    • Participate in continuous improvement goals of the work site

    SKILLS / EQUIPMENT:

    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.

    • Ability to use various power (Pneumatic) hand tools (i.e.; power screwdriver, socket etc.)

    • Knowledge of tube bending, cut off and deburring

    • Ability to understand blueprints.

    • Strong computer hardware understanding and proficiency

    • Possess knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, connecting wires to terminals, AC/DC current concepts.

    • Systems fabrication strongly preferred.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.

    • 3+ years’ experience in heavy mechanical assembly

    SAFETY EQUIPMENT:

    • Mats to stand on

    • Safety glasses

    • Safety shoes

    • Machine guarding, as applicable

    • Cut-resistant gloves and other PPE as applicable

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES:

    • Regularly lift between 30 – 50 pounds

    • Regularly perform repetitive tasks

    • Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
