    Network Software Application Intern Austin, TX -Job ID:JR0086733 Job Category:Intern/Student Primary Location:Austin, TX US Other Locations: Job Type:Intern -Network Software Application InternJob Description The Connectivity Group Platform Application Engineering (CGPAE) team is looking for a Network Software Application Intern to support and test Intel's wired Ethernet products. This position would work closely with application engineers to research, implement, tune, debug, and document real-world data center server workloads on cutting-edge wired Ethernet products. Tasks would be primarily focused on performance testing of advanced technologies such as RDMA, Network Attached Storage, High Performance Computing (HPC) and virtualized data center environments. Passion for problem solving and proven time management skills are critical to success. (P) Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a software technical nature. Experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school. (P) Qualifications You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. (P) This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position. (P) Minimum requirements: (P) Currently enrolled in relevant Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering / Computer Science BS Program. (P) -Theoretical knowledge of Ethernet/TCP networking architecture, protocols, topologies, and networking products. -Working knowledge of Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, Centos, etc) and/or VMware operating system administration. -Experience in at least one scripting language, for example: Python/Perl/Bash/Powershell (P) You should also have verbal and written communication skills.
