SPG Software Intern Intel 3,494 reviews - Hillsboro, OR 97124 Temporary, Internship Job Description The Systems Product Group (SPG) within Intel is seeking a software engineering intern for fall/winter timeframe with a possibility of extending into spring/summer, depending on project needs. SPG produces products such as the Intel NUC and Intel Compute Card products. The nature of the job role includes designing, developing, debugging, and validating a variety of software applications in both Linux and Windows environments. The candidate will be expected to be able to decompose an abstract idea to its most atomic detail and create a plan for implementation of that idea. The candidate must be able to organize the implementation steps and execute them accordingly. The candidate must be able to exercise rational thought and deductive reasoning when debugging issues that are exposed based on test and customer feedback. The candidate must be able to work well both independently and with a team. Also the candidate must be disciplined enough to work well with an unstructured schedule. This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Qualifications You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Minimum requirements: The candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or other science/engineering related field. At least 3+ months of experience with software design concepts and practices (i.e. design patterns, object oriented programming, and test driven development). At least 3+ months of experience using a variety of programming languages (e.g. C, java, python, etc.).
