    Job Description

    As a Firmware Engineering intern you will work with the Devens firmware engineering group to develop, test, and document new functionality for ICT products which include linear motors and drives/controllers. Each intern has a dedicated mentor to help navigate Rockwell, ramp up in our code base, and remove daily blockers. If you enjoy problem solving at the intersection of software and hardware then our embedded teams are the place for you. You will be exposed to a variety of software engineering knowledge areas including: OOD/OOA, full development life cycle, agile methodology, system design, test driven development, test automation, and build and configuration management.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 in a Computer Science or equivalent major
    • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Preference given to students who have had prior intern or co-op with Rockwell Automation in the past
    • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering
    • Preference given to students met on campus, at a national recruiting event, through a Rockwell Automation-hosted event or a targeted recruiting campaign

    • Industrial automation environments including PLC or drives programming
