    Job Description

    Make an impact and expand your possibilities at Rockwell Automation. Our interns are makers and innovators who want to help us make the world more productive and sustainable. As an intern, you’ll make an impact putting your education to work and building your skills by immersing yourself in real-world projects. 

      An internship as unique as you are. We match your background, skills and interests to find the best placement for you. You’ll collaborate with your manager on responsibilities and projects specific to your intern role. You will perform a necessary role while working with a team of engineers and industry professionals in one of the following areas: 

    • Manufacturing Engineering: Focuses on launch and operation based excellence by establishing, deploying and maintenance of technical solutions. You will establish wide-reaching change management and the maintenance of manufacturing strategies help standardize and deploy our best innovations.  
    • Manufacturing Operations*: Responsible for converting materials and labor into goods and services for our customers while focusing on process improvement, productivity, quality, delivery, and safety. Role will focus on industrializing, implementing, maintaining methods, operation sequencing and processing in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies for new and existing products.  *Students in these roles must be interested in working on the manufacturing/plant floor.  
    • Quality & Continuous Improvement Engineering: Work to ensure that designs are the highest quality and most reliable products and delivers services and solutions to our customers. These roles involve metric reporting, data mining, statistical analysis of product data, design support for product compliance, lifecycle management for component part selection, dispositioning non-conforming materials, and completing Lean projects within the plant. Some roles may perform cause failures analysis and working in a of variety of chemical, electrical, and mechanical lab environment.

    Locations

    There are several location opportunities for these roles. Rockwell Automation provides relocation and housing support for those that qualify.

    • Wisconsin: Milwaukee, Mequon, Middleton, Richland Center or Ladysmith
    • Ohio: Twinsburg

    Basic Qualifications: 

    • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university  (graduation date of December 2024 or after)
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
    • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

    Preferred Qualifications (not required): 

    • Prior intern or co-op with Rockwell Automation
    • Met through a Rockwell Automation-hosted recruitment event or a targeted recruiting campaign
    • Pursuing a degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering/Distribution, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 
    • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Experience in Lean/Six Sigma concepts
    • Informed decision-making

     Our Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) function supports the execution of manufacturing operations at Rockwell Automation. Our teams within ISC develop and implement process for productivity across our plant operations, improve security within our plants and across our products, promote global standardization of our Connected Enterprise Operations and its commercialization while working toward improvements for our customer experience plans.
